Praise The Sun!

This was the first time I tried the speed painting technique. You’re looking at Anor Londo, an area in the game Dark Souls. It’s really cool to see this scenery for the first time in the game, then realize that you can actually walk all the way over to it.

Anyway, I’m not sure what I think about the outcome; I’m not used to doing stuff without detail. I’d say the lighting worked out great and the correct mood came through. I definitely like seeing the brush strokes – as compared to the smudge technique I was previously using. Maybe it could work in conjunction with some sketchy lines to help add detail… On to the next experiment.
